A police chase filmed by NBC Chicago’s Sky 5 helicopter Tuesday showed a vehicle weaving through traffic on a suburban highway before exiting and sparking a massive foot chase that ended with the surrounding a house by the police.
The chase was first spotted on the Edens Expressway near Caldwell and Peterson in Chicago’s northern suburbs, according to Mike Lorber on NBC Sky 5.
In the footage, the vehicle was seen exiting the highway at Peterson Avenue before continuing west, then heading north on LeClaire, then heading down Estes toward Lavergne, just south of the Touhy Avenue in Skokie.
The man abandoned the vehicle on Estes before fleeing on foot, sparking a large chase involving several police officers. The man was filmed jumping a fence between two houses before disappearing.
Police were then seen surrounding a home in the area and several officers eventually arrested the person.
Police have not released information about what sparked the pursuit.
