Sister Wives star Kody Brown’s polygamous family in tatters after ANOTHER ‘marriage’ collapsed

The Brown family, at the center of the TLC series Sister Wives, has been rocked by their second marital separation in as many years.

In a teaser clip for the Sister Wives: One-on-One special, it was revealed that Janelle Brown had been separated from Kody “for several months.”

In the clip, which aired after the reality show’s 17th season finale, Kody, 53, told host Sukanya Krishnan, “Yeah, we’re apart.”

Kody, who entered into a spiritual marriage with Janelle in 1993, said, “Janelle has made it pretty clear to me that she is enjoying her life without me.”

Kody and Janelle are parents to six children: Logan, 28, Madison, 27, Hunter, 25, Garrison, 24, Gabriel, 21, and Savannah, 17.

The split comes just over a year after Christine Brown, 50, revealed in November 2021 that she and Kody had split after dating for more than 25 years.

Christine said of the latest split: “For Janelle, I think she’s frustrated and she’s so hurt and I think this man she was married to, she realizes he’s totally different , but she’s different too.”

The split between Janelle and Kody comes at the end of a tense season between the two on the reality show, as Kody said Janelle was never by his side.

“It’s been a bit of a civil war,” Kody said in the episode. “The whole family in a way. I look at Janelle wondering which side she’s on.

Janelle was angry with Kody following residual tension between him and several children over the strict protocols he put in place amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The conflict between Kody and Janelle came to a head when Janelle told Kody, Meri, 50, and Robyn, 43, that she didn’t feel like her “kids were welcome.”

She added, “To be honest with you, I really don’t know if I want to do the job; I feel like I have to choose between my children and this group.

She told Kody she’d rather be with [her] kids” and told the group that “there’s a strong incentive to run away and do the easiest thing”.

The episode also revealed the complicated nature of Kody’s relationship with Meri, as they spoke with Janelle and Robyn about the future of their property, Coyote Pass.

Robyn said that “the last year and a half [had] really changed the way he viewed family.

Kody said he felt a sense of failure over Christine’s departure.

Robyn said: “We’re still here and we don’t need to fail any more. We have to fix it. We have to solve the problems.

The season finale also revealed the complicated nature of Kody’s relationship with Meri.

Meri said she thought Kody had a double standard in the way he treated her and Christine

Meri highlighted her decades of longevity in the relationship as a testament to her commitment to it, in a Sister Wives segment on Sunday

Kody said he wasn’t sure the family was on the same page, to which Meri said it was unfair for him to assume “what everyone thinks or feels”.

Said Meri: ‘It’s interesting to hear him talk about that and the parallels that happen with him and Christine and me and him.

“It’s a bit disturbing because some of the things that frustrate him with Christine, he did to me; oh, he wants to work there with Christine but not with me.

Robyn said she wanted to know if the family members were ‘tired of trying’ and reluctant to ‘work things out’.

Meri pointed to her decades of longevity in the relationship as a testament to her commitment to it.

Kody said in a confessional clip that he was ‘exhausted’ by the lack of support he received from extended family

“Robyn, I think you and I have had enough conversations about this that you know exactly where I am and I’m still here because I’m still trying,” she said. “Six years later, I’m still here – 10 years, 15 years, 20 years later, I’m still here. That’s what I want.

Kody said in a confessional clip that he was “exhausted” by the lack of support he received from extended family.

‘If you’re not with me, you’re against me – F off, you know?’ he said. “I’m just, like, this way.”

He added of Meri: “Ironically Meri is trying to support me and I don’t want to be in a relationship with her anymore.”

Kody remains legally married to Robyn, his fourth wife, and in a spiritual marriage to his first wife Meri.
