Sister Anne Conrad Koerner, OSF, dies at 94

A funeral mass for Franciscan Sister Anne Conrad Koerner will be offered at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at Assisi House in Aston, Pennsylvania. Sister Anne Conrad passed away on November 30. She was 94 years old and had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 73 years.
Born Carmelia Madeline Koerner born in Baltimore, Sister Anne Conrad was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Highlandtown and a graduate of Baltimore Catholic High School.
She entered the congregation in 1946 and took her first vows in 1949. She earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Fordham University. During her early years in the congregation, she ministered in elementary education, but after becoming a licensed pharmacist, she ministered in health care.
Sister Anne Conrad’s 19 years in the Archdiocese of Baltimore began teaching at St. Vincent’s School. Later, she ministered at what is now St. Joseph’s Medical Center at the University of Maryland in Towson.
She has also ministered in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
