Simultaneous explosions by the Israeli army destroy buildings in the West Bank

The Israeli army has destroyed more than a dozen buildings in Jenin, a city in the occupied West Bank, while Israel has turned to territory since it withdrew some of its troops during the ceasefire Course on the other side of the border in Gaza.

Images captured by Reuters have shown a series of explosions tearing the city, sending imposing plumes of smoke in the sky.

In a statement on Sunday, the Israeli Defense Forces (FDI) said they had demolished several buildings in Jenin which were “used as a terrorist infrastructure”.

Hamas called for a “climbing in resistance” against Israel after the demolition in Jenin.

The number of victims, if necessary, is currently unknown.

Israel launched an offensive to Jenin last month to “defeat terrorism”, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This is the third major foray into the Israeli army in the city – a long -standing bastion of militant groups, including Hamas and Islamic jihad – in less than two years.

On Sunday, a 16 -year -old boy was one of the five people killed by Israeli air strikes on Jenin, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The violence of Israeli settlers and military operations has climbed on occupied territory since the Gaza Strip War began on October 7, 2023, when Israeli officials say that 1,200 people were killed and around 250 hostages in attacks Hamas multiproches against Israel.

During the year before the attacks, 253 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank according to a database preserved by the United Nations Bureau for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA.

But since October 7, the database shows that the number of deaths has increased sharply, 845 Palestinians killed.

And the most recent offensive of Israel in January was launched only a few hours after President Trump canceled American sanctions on groups of far -right settlers and individuals accused of violation of violence against the Palestinians in Palestinians West Bank.

In Gaza, the FDI said that an Israeli plane had shot a vehicle which, according to him, was moving outside the “agreed inspection route”, which, according to him, violated the ceasefire agreement The fefe between Israel and Hamas.

“The FDI is prepared for any scenario and will continue to take the necessary measures to thwart immediate threats to its soldiers,” the statement said.

The two attacks coincided Netanyahu’s departure for the United States on Sunday, where he should meet President Donald Trump.

Netanyahu, the first foreign leader to visit Trump since his inauguration in January, left Israel when negotiations for the second phase of talks are expected to start on Monday.

Meanwhile, the deputy chief of Hamas, Mousa Abu Marzouk, will direct a delegation to visit the Russian capital Moscow on Monday, reported the state agency for Ria on Sunday.

Russia has long links to governments and groups of the Middle East, notably Israel, Iran, Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority.
