‘Sick’ Rio Ferdinand withdraws from his own Vibe With Five podcast as co-host wishes Man United legend ‘a speedy recovery’

  • United icon Rio Ferdinand presents Vibe With Five podcast every Monday
  • Ferdinand is a regular presence on television screens thanks to his work with TNT Sports

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has pulled out of the latest episode of his podcast due to illness.

Ferdinand hosts Vibe With Five alongside Joel Beya and Stephen Howson each week, debating and discussing all the major talking points from the weekend’s action, as well as the world of football as a whole.

It comes after a fascinating weekend of high-profile action, including Mohamed Salah’s row with Jurgen Klopp, Arsenal’s 3-2 victory in the North London Derby and another disappointing Manchester United performance for draw 1-1 with Burnley.

However, fans were dealt a major blow after Ferdinand was forced to postpone for a further week after his co-host revealed he was “not feeling very well”.

“Yes friends, just to let you know that Vibe With Five has been postponed this week because Rio isn’t feeling very well,” Beya wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“We’ll be back on Monday for another episode of Vibe With Five. Please wish my man Rio a healthy recovery.

Ferdinand is a regular pundit on TNT Sports’ coverage of the Premier League and Champions League, but was absent from the broadcaster’s broadcasts this weekend.

As such, his participation in TNT’s Champions League coverage later this week is left uncertain, with two huge semi-finals on offer between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, as well as PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

Earlier last week, he delivered a damning indictment of Chelsea’s defense during their clash against Arsenal last week.

The Blues suffered a 5-0 defeat to their London rivals, with Ferdinand saying the game was more like “men against boys”.

Ferdinand told TNT Sports: “They (Chelsea) were second and it was men against boys.

“Yes, Chelsea had a young team, but it doesn’t always happen that way, because sometimes young players show a bit of fearlessness.

“They’ve been good in the big games over the last few weeks, but today I thought they were way off the mark. No, Palmer. It was men against boys and they were completely destroyed today.
