“Shut up and come in” – Jamie Carragher angry with Antony after Manchester United were humiliated at Crystal Palace

Jamie Carragher was left furious with Antony’s conduct following Manchester United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.

Erik ten Hag’s men suffered a hidden Selhurst Park in what was branded an “atrocious” display by talkSPORT’s Danny Murphy.

Their performance was the subject of much criticism, however, it was what Antony did after the full-time whistle that left Liverpool legend Carragher furious.

As Antony left the pitch, he was seen speaking to teammate Mason Mount and Andre Onana with his hand over his mouth – and that didn’t sit well with Carragher.

“Get off the pitch! Whispering behind your hand, you were absolutely horrible,” Carragher said of Antony.

“He’s probably talking about one of the players or someone else, or the setup, or the manager, get off the pitch.

“Shut up and come in. You got beat 4-0, whispering, talking – honestly, it’s embarrassing.”

Antony started the match for the Red Devils but was substituted on the hour mark after being ineffective throughout.

Carragher wasn’t the only one to condemn Antony on Monday night, with Murphy saying in commentary for talkSPORT when the former Ajax man was substituted: “I congratulate Ten Hag on that…

“His (Antony’s) attitude – whining at everyone… well done Ten Hag. You might be losing but you don’t throw your arms in the air at your teammates.”

It was a lifeless outing from a Man United perspective across the board, but with Palace running around them.

Michael Olise put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute before Jean-Phillipe Mateta’s powerful left-footed shot made it 2-0 just before half-time.

Tyrick Mitchell’s close-range effort put Palace 3-0 ahead before Olise’s piledriver sealed an embarrassing evening for Man United.
