Shrek’s donkey is impressed by the size of Jack Grealish’s calves and wonders if the winger has ‘implants’ – as he reveals who he thinks the Manchester City star most resembles in the iconic film

Shrek’s donkey was impressed by the size of Jack Grealish’s calf muscles as several Manchester City stars took a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando during their pre-season tour of the United States.

The Premier League champions have had a slow start to pre-season, losing their opening two games against Celtic 4-3 and AC Milan 3-2.

Pep Guardiola is now set to face his former club Barcelona at the Camping World Stadium on Tuesday, but it appears his players have enjoyed some time off with a trip to one of Florida’s most iconic theme parks.

Man City took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a video of Grealish meeting an animatronic donkey and actors dressed as Princess Fiona and Shrek.

In the clip, Grealish and several of his team-mates, including Erling Haaland, approach the trio of characters, who were standing near what appeared to be a replica of Shrek’s swamp hut – with Donkey peering through a window.

“The princess hasn’t taken her eyes off you. I’ll be honest, you’re a dreamer,” Donkey tells one of Grealish’s teammates.

Grealish then added: “What about me?”

Donkey joked with the City winger, saying: “You’re doing well. You remind me of someone else. I’ll be honest with you, I’ll try not to say the F-word, but you remind me a bit of Farquaad in you.”

Lord Farquaad is the main antagonist of the Shrek franchise and appears in the Shrek 4-D attraction at Universal Studios.

“What?” Grealish replied, seeming to smile at the joke, before adding: “No, you’re miles away.”

Despite being called up to Gareth Southgate’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024 earlier this summer, Grealish was ultimately left out of the travelling party that qualified for the tournament finals in Germany.

The winger revealed he was “absolutely heartbroken” by the omission, but he appears to have worked hard to get his mojo back – having been pictured taking part in several training camps this summer in Portugal.

He seems to have enjoyed his time in the US, however, having also met Rihanna this weekend, one of his idols.

Although Grealish is known for having rather large calves, it seems Donkey was even impressed by the work he had been doing in the gym, even going so far as to ask if the Man City star had implants.

“What’s the maximum amount you can do in your deadlift?” the animatronic character asked Grealish when they met at Universal.

“No, I don’t,” Grealish replied, before declaring: “Natural, those.”

The exchange left his team-mate Haaland in tears, with Donkey asking: “You don’t have any? No implants, nothing?”

“No, nothing,” Grealish replied.

The 28-year-old has also revealed in recent weeks that he is set to become a father, with him and girlfriend Sasha Attwood announcing they are expecting their first child.
