Shooting reported at Garanti Rate Field during White Sox game as 90s-themed concert canceled – NBC Chicago

A shooting was reported inside the guaranteed rate field Friday night during the Chicago White Sox game, just before a scheduled ’90s-themed concert.

The concert was later canceled due to “technical difficulties”.

“Attention fans. Due to technical issues, tonight’s post-match concert has been cancelled,” the post read. “We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Fans holding field passes will receive a refund to the original purchaser’s credit card.”

Vanilla Ice, Rob Base and Tone Loc were scheduled to perform after the game for those in attendance. Supporters with a field pass will be reimbursed.

According to a police source, a shooting occurred inside the park around 8:45 p.m. in which at least two people were hit. Neither individual suffered life-threatening injuries.
