Shooting in upstate New York park leaves one dead, several injured
One person is dead and at least six others were injured after shots were fired at a large gathering in Rochester, New York, on Sunday night.
Rochester Police Department Capt. Greg Bello told reporters that police responded to Maplewood Park around 6:20 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports that shots had been fired during a large gathering.
When the police arrived, they discovered that several people had been shot.
Although the investigation is still ongoing, Bello said one person was fatally shot while at least six others suffered gunshot wounds.

Bello said all six individuals were transported to area hospitals and at least one of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

As for the slain victim, police have only identified the person as an adult in his early twenties. No additional information about the victim has been provided as investigators are currently notifying relatives and family.
Rochester First reported that multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the crime scene, including Irondequoit police, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester police and New York State Police.

Police are encouraging anyone with video or photos of the incident to contact investigators through the Major Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers, rather than posting them on social media. Police are also asking anyone with information to call 311 or 911.
