Athletics has a live cover from the first round of the NFL 2025 draft.
Sheder Sanders – One of the biggest names in the NFL 2025 draft as a polarizing perspective with a father of the renown temple – was not selected in the Top 10 during Thursday’s draft, sliding several spots from the place where some originally projected, the quarter of colorado would be chosen.
A single QB was selected in the Top 10: the Miami cam district by the Tennessee titans at n ° 1. The New Orleans, who would have previously targeted a quarter-Arrière and potentially Sanders, took the offensive line of Texas Kelvin Banks Jr. with the choice n ° 9.
Various simulated projects and experts have planned that Sanders would be selected in the first round, but there was no clear consensus on where he would go. In a post-compliance draft in March, AthleticsDane Brugler plans that Sanders would be selected in 21st row by the Pittsburgh steelers (other points of sale like ESPN and USA Today have also projected that Sanders would be selected). However, Brugler’s last simulated draft does not list Sanders at all in the first round, rather indicating that the Steelers could take the defensive platform of Oregon Derrick Harmon at n ° 21 to strengthen their defensive line.
Brugler previously noted that Sanders should be a “joker” in this project and that the QB “could go in the top six or fall entirely from the first round – and no results would be a shock”. There had been speculation according to which the New York giants, who organized private training with Sanders in Boulder earlier this month, would take him with choice n ° 3 (they went with the Rusher Edge Abdul Carter). Pittsburgh has also been widely considered as a possible landing point for Sanders since the franchise, which has entered the draft with only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson in their QB room, has an uncertainty in this position.
Sanders, 23, started her four college seasons – her first two in Jackson State and his last two in Colorado – playing for his father, Deion Sanders, who frequently and publicly commented on his son’s project process in recent months.
Sheder totaled 134 affected and 14,347 yards during his collegial career, including a career summit of 4,134 yards, and completed 74% of his passes for the Buffaloes last season, which he spent alongside his brother Shilo and the winner of Heisman 2024, Travis Hunter, that the Jacksonville jaguars have selected with the choice n ° 2.
