Shasta County’s woman faces a montage of medical invoices after knee surgery

Redding, California – The friends of Robyn Mazzanti, a member of the staff of Hasta County Juvenile Hall, bring together the community to support it as it faces growing medical bills after a knee injury.

In January 2024, Robyn’s left ball joined in place, leading to a one -year struggle to receive the necessary treatment. After a year of challenges and physiotherapy, the doctors of UC Davis carried out surgery on their knees, essentially restarting his recovery journey. This happened because his work was moving insurers.

“In the process, they increased our prices and doubled the franchises,” said Robyn, holding tears. “So it’s as if I couldn’t go ahead of all that hard as you are trying.”

It was at this time that Nicole Répfer, a Redding police officer and friend of Robyn, decided to intervene to help. Nicole, who leads a nutrition group called Team Dutchie, understood the pain and loneliness of Robyn because of her own injury, which prevented her.

“Not having this community around you makes it really dark,” said Reply. “And when we can come together like that, this is where I feel like my community service, my community heart really brings me to bring people together.”

Nicole organizes the event “Love Thy Neighbour 5K for 5k” on February 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Anderson River Park. Participants can register online with a minimum donation of $ 25 or support from afar without attending. Nicole encourages participants to wear Robyn’s favorite styles: greens, hunting camos and black.

Robyn said support would make a huge difference in his life.

“Make my friends appear to help me without being asked has been really special,” said Robyn. “It makes me feel really good. It is still a little difficult for me to accept help, but at the same time, I need it.”
