Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan met autorickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who rushed him to hospital after he was injured in a knife attack at his home in Mumbai, and l ‘thanked for his help. Saif was stabbed multiple times with a knife by an intruder in his 12th floor apartment in upscale Bandra in the wee hours of January 16. The actor suffered multiple knife wounds in the attack and underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. He returned home on Tuesday.

Car driver talks about meeting Saif Ali Khan

Saif met Singh Rana at the hospital on Tuesday before being discharged. “I met him (Saif) yesterday at the hospital. He called me to thank me, to help him reach the hospital. He congratulated me. I received blessings from him and his family,” the autorickshaw driver told PTI.

“He (Saif) introduced me to his mother (Sharmila Tagore) and I touched her feet. He gave me (money) whatever he thought was fair and told me that every Whenever I needed help, he would be there,” Singh Rana said.

He also told ANI, “I felt happy to meet such a big star and his family, his mother congratulated me. I can’t blame him for not paying me when I took him to the hospital; how could we find ourselves in such a situation. It would be nice if someone in this situation didn’t even pay, you just want them to be safe.

What happened

The intruder, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national who entered India illegally and changed his name to Vijay Das, was arrested in nearby Thane on Sunday.

According to the police, preliminary investigation suggests that the accused had entered the actor’s house with the intention of committing theft.

Police had earlier said he entered the actor’s building by climbing the compound wall and entered through the main entrance after finding the security guards asleep.
