Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most dominant centers to ever step foot on a basketball court, and he took full advantage of the weight he put on his 7’1″ frame to make life miserable to his opponents at his peak. However, there is at least one downside to being as tall as he is, based on how his height has interfered with one of his favorite pastimes.
It’s no secret that Shaq has done very well financially during his time in the NBA. The big man has accumulated $286 million in contract money alone during his time in the league, and he’s supplemented that fortune with the numerous endorsement deals he seemingly doesn’t have the ability to turn down.
These winnings allowed O’Neal to purchase the massive mansion that was featured during his memorable appearance in MTV Cribswhere he took viewers on a tour of a lavish estate featuring a full-size indoor basketball arena, a custom circular bed emblazoned with the Superman logo, and an impressive fleet of luxury cars.
Shaq can certainly afford a garage stocked with Lamborghinis and Ferraris, although using those vehicles for their intended purposes is apparently easier said than done for a seven-foot player who admitted to weighing over 400 pounds during his time with the Lakers.
In a recent interview with People, The man known as “Big Diesel” admitted that the only time his size has caused him major problems is when it comes to pursuing his love of exotic vehicles, saying:
“When it comes to driving sports cars, this is the only time.
“They have these Lamborghinis and Ferraris… Before, I had to buy two, puncture them, spend a crazy amount of money and remove the convertible part to get in shape.
“But that’s the only time I wished I was smaller, so I could ride in some of those expensive sports cars.”
This really takes First World problems to a whole new level.
