The temple of the NFL and Podcaster Shannon Sharpe was prosecuted for sexual assault by a woman, who said that he raped her twice over a period of two months last year in his house in Las Vegas.
The Jane Doe, in a legal action deposited on Sunday at the Court of State of Nevada, alleys assault and requests at least $ 50 million. Sharpe “violently assaulted sexually and raped anal the plaintiff twice different in Las Vegas, Nevada, clearly ignoring his requests to stop,” said the complaint. “He did it again in January.”
In a statement published on X attributed to his lawyer Lanny Davis, Sharpe appointed his accuser and cited SMS who, according to him, prove that the relationship was consensual. He said that he “categorically denies all allegations of coercion or fault – in particular the raw lie of” rape ” – and would not submit to what he considers a blatant attempt at blackmail”.
Sharpe and the woman met in 2023 in a gymnasium in Los Angeles, according to the complaint. They quickly concluded a relationship, which included consensual sex, which later became violent, according to the trial.
After moving to Las Vegas, the woman alleges Sharpe, who also moved to the region, confronted her and asked her to take her home. Once there, she claims that he forced her to perform oral sex before penetrating her.
Three months later in January, Sharpe would have attacked it a second time, according to the trial. He “seized her – downwards and positioning her to perform oral sex, which lasted about two minutes,” said the complaint. “Then Sharpe repositioned her and forced himself roughly in her.”
The trial brings allegations for the sexual drums and the intentional infliction of emotional distress for verbal violence, among others. Sharpe was also prosecuted before the New York State Court by an ex-girlfriend, who alleges that he forced her to carry out oral sex.
Tony Buzbee, who made the headlines to represent dozens of accusers in prosecution against Sean “Diddy” Combs, represents the woman pursuing Sharpe.
