Shannen Doherty is no longer as charmed by marriage as she once was.
THE Beverly Hills, 90210 A former student shared the lessons she learned about relationships one year after filing for divorce from her ex Kurt Iswarienko. After walking down the aisle three times, Shannen, who was married to Ashley Hamilton in the 90s and Rick Salomon at first — said she now has a different perspective on what it really means to be married.
“I love the idea of marriage,” she told her former fiancé and longtime friend. Rob Weiss during the April 15 episode of She Let’s be clear podcast. “I believe in it, but after my last brutal marriage, what it taught me is that a piece of paper doesn’t really mean anything.”
The 53-year-old continued: “That doesn’t stop a person from lying.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Shannen hinted that she had doubts about her marriage to Kurt before their wedding in 2011. Looking back, Shannen said: “I learned something, which is that I have to listen with my instincts and not be afraid to disrupt things.”
