Washington – Shakira’s concert in the Nationals Park on Saturday evening Was canceled, according to the Nationals website.
The Colombian Superstar Pop was to launch the last stage of WorldPride with a concert at Nationals Park, from 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The cancellation occurs after Shakira was forced to cancel a concert Thursday evening at the Fenway Park in Boston. Washington nationals said the Structural problems at Boston Ballpark had been directly linked to the fact that the singer cancels her DC program.
“Due to complications with the previous show in Boston, the full production of Shakira’s tour cannot be transported to Washington, DC in time for its planned performance,” the Washington Nationals published on their official Baseball League site.
The concert, which is part of the tour of the singer “Las Mujeres ya no lloran”, had been marketed as a world “welcome concert”, while the world celebration of LGBTQ + is preparing to meet with the month of pride.
The Nats declaration also included a message from Shakira in English and Spanish.
“Due to circumstances independent of my will, I am sad and my heart broken that I will not be in Washington, DC with you tomorrow,” Shakira wrote on Friday. “I hope I can return to DC, as soon as I can. Meanwhile, know that I am eternally grateful for your unconditional support.”

“For tickets purchased through third -party resellers (Stubhub, Seatgeek, VIFS seats, etc.), please contact your purchase point directly,” said the declaration of the baseball team.
Capital response Pride Alliance:
The DC LGBTQ + organization responded to Shakira’s announcement, saying that the CPA was “disappointed” by cancellation.
“Like fans of Shakira and our friends and our family who have traveled around the world to join us at DC this weekend, we are deeply disappointed that unforeseen circumstances have forced the cancellation of both the week’s concert in Boston and the concert of tomorrow in Nationals Park,” wrote the LGBQ +group.
Capital Pride Alliance used Shakira’s announcement as an opportunity to push for some of the other events this weekend, including a shortpoint-commemorative display of AIDS in Dupont Circle and The Glitter Ball Drag Show at Shaw’s Tavern.
