‘Severance’ Season 2 Sets Release Date, Unveils Trailer

Breakup Season two returns to the office.

The second installment of Apple’s workplace thriller will return in January 2025, the streamer announced Wednesday. The 10-episode season will air weekly over the first two months of the new year.

A brief teaser released Wednesday revealed the date and takes fans back to the show’s iconic workplace elevator.

BreakupFrom director and executive producer Ben Stiller, Adam Scott stars as Mark Scout, a manager at the mysterious Lumon Industries, a company where employees are subjected to layoff procedures for sharing their memories between work and personal lives. The first season received numerous Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and won two Writers Guild Awards.

The second season will reunite original stars Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette, along with new series star Sarah Bock. Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban and Merritt Wever will also appear in the second season.

In season two, “Mark and his friends discover the dire consequences of neglecting the separation barrier, leading them further down the path of misery,” a press release reads. The series is written, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson.

Breakup The second season will debut globally on Apple TV+ with the first episode on January 17, 2025, followed by an episode every Friday until March 21, 2025. This return will mark two and a half years since the series first aired in February 2022.
