As the viral marketing stunts go, there’s a somewhat meta feel to stuffing the cast with Breakup in a glass box at New York’s Grand Central Station.
Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry and Tramell Tillman were among those who brought the Lumon Industries office to life for a crowd of delighted commuters.
Ben Stiller, director of the Apple TV+ series, which is set to return for its second season on January 17, oversaw the whole thing.
Dan Erickson’s drama centers on a surgical procedure that separates work from off-duty, meaning Lumon’s team was very busy at Grand Central.
Viewers captured them interacting and throwing paper airplanes at each other, all under the watchful eye of Tillman’s menacing Milchick.
The glass box was initially populated by unknown Lumon employees, but the actors then appeared, gathering a crowd, according to footage posted on social media.
Season 2 will follow Mark S (Scott) and the team’s quest to fully unravel the mystery of what they’re really doing in Lumon. Other cast members include John Turturro and Christopher Walken.
Those joining the series for season 2 include Alia Shawkat (Research group), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia)Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The tourist), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Bob Balaban (The chair), Merritt Wever (Impious) and John Noble (Fringe).
