New York police looking for several armed men after three people were killed and at least nine were injured in a mass shooting in a Brooklyn living room.
The NYPD said that on Sunday up to four shooters on Sunday opened fire inside the city fair at 903, avenue Franklin in the district of Crown Heights during the night in what seems to be violence linked to gangs.
Several shooting victims found in the Brooklyn lounge
New York police commissioner Jessica Tisch said the police had found several victims of shooting inside the show after several 911 calls arrived shortly before 3:30 am on Sunday.
She said he thought that armed men started shooting people during a dispute.
Three men were declared dead and nine people were hospitalized for injuries that do not put life in life, said Tisch. The victims include nine men and three women, whose age varies from 19 to 61, she added.
“We refuse the names of the victims at the moment, pending family notifications,” said the police commissioner.
The police recovered at least 42 shell liners from what seemed to be several cannons inside the show, said Tisch.
Police also discovered a firearm near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, but it was not immediately clear if the firearm was part of the show shooting.
Investigators were trying to find a video surveillance of the incident and, so far, have not made any arrest.
The mayor asks witnesses to come forward
Mayor Eric Adams urged anyone with information on the set of Brooklyn to come forward by calling the Hotline Crime Stoppers from the NYPD.
“If you were inside the club, if you heard individuals talk about this shooting, if you have witnessed someone fleeing the location. Each information element would allow us to collect the puzzle to resolve this crime,” said Adams at the end of Sunday morning.
For advice in English, the hotline is 1-800-577-tips (8477). For advice in Spanish, call 1-888-57-Pista (74782).
The mayor noted that it was the second mortal mass filming in the city in less than three weeks. Another armed man stormed an office building in Midtown Manhattan July 28 And killed four people before turning the pistol on itself.
Despite recent events, Tisch said that armed violence was down this year in the five districts.
“We have the lowest number of shooting incidents and victims of firing at seven months in the year that we saw in the city of New York. Something like that is, God thank you, a anomaly and it is a terrible thing that happened this morning. But we are going to investigate and arrive at the bottom of what happened,” said Tisch.
