Several people shot dead in a shopping center in Copenhagen, Denmark

Danish police have confirmed that several people have been shot dead in an ongoing incident at a shopping mall in Copenhagen.

Police in the Scandinavian country advised people to stay away from Fields shopping center or shelter in place on social media, before further informing that one person has been arrested in connection with the incident and to state that law enforcement has a “massive” presence in the region.

Details of the shooting are scarce at this time, police affirming they “currently do not have the possibility to say more about the identity of the person”.

Some have noted that the shooting took place near where a Harry Styles concert is or was due to take place later that evening, but no connection has been firmly established at this time.

At the time of publication, it is unconfirmed whether the arrest that police revealed brought the incident to a permanent end, or whether any of those affected were fatally injured.
