Senegal v Netherlands: CAN champions face Oranje as they return to the World Cup

African Cup of Nations champions Senegal kick off their 2022 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on Monday.

The Oranje will return to football’s biggest tournament after shockingly failing to qualify four years ago.

The Netherlands are enjoying life under van Gaal

However, they now head into this competition unbeaten in 15 games and are in great form under the management of Louis van Gaal.

The Teranga Lions are also in fine form and have just won the last major trophy they competed for.

Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty in the AFCON final earlier this year but the Senegal captain was cruelly ruled out of the tournament through injury.
