The film, which will feature a love triangle between Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, has been filming in New York for several weeks and is already shaping up to be a real masterclass in New York chic style. Last week, Johnson was spotted wearing a divine strapless silk dress in striking cobalt blue, and in April, she rocked well-cut basics, wearing a black crop top with a pair of ultra-wide-leg jeans.

The other thing that The materialists is this coming? Very very Sex and the city-coded. Set in New York, the plot features a (apparently very well-dressed) matchmaker whose “lucrative business becomes complicated when she falls into a toxic love triangle that threatens her clients.”

While wearing her perfect yellow summer dress, Johnson appeared to be filming a scene with Evans in a suit and boots that took place on the steps of a brownstone — and it doesn’t get more Carrie and Aidan than that. The only thing missing from the stage was a pair of six-inch Manolo Blahniks. Johnson’s character opted for a pair of Nike sneakers instead.

Another scene in the film appears to show Johnson and Evans sharing a cheeky cigarette outside a bar. Once again, we get some serious Carrie Bradshaw flashbacks.
