Seattle, Washington – April 21, 2025 – Today, the Seattle Kraken has announced that they had relieved the head coach Dan Bylsma from his duties.
“We thank Dan for his commitment and the energy he has brought to our organization in the past four years at the NHL and NHL levels,” said Kraken Director Ron Francis. “After a thorough examination of the season and our expectations for next year and beyond, we made the decision difficult to move in a different direction behind the bench. Dan is a great person and a respected coach. He played an important role in the development of many of our young perspectives and was a large part of our early success in Coachella Valley. We only sincerely wish him his family, nothing else in the future. ”
Bylsma was appointed second head coach in the history of the franchise on May 28, 2024 and guided the Kraken to a record of 35-41-6 during the 2024-25 season. Bylsma joined the Kraken after spending the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons as a head coachela Valley Firebirds, the American Hockey League (AHL) subsidiary. He guided the Firebirds to a regular regular season record of 94-32-18 during these two years. He was also a deputy coach of the Charlotte Checkers, the SEATtle AHL subsidiary in the first year of Kraken as the NHL team.
