The former assistant offered information on the varied interests of combits in music, television, alcohol and fashion. Among the protruding facts of Kaplan’s mandate, he said, was the launch of Revolt, the Combs cable television network focused on hip-hop.
Thanks to a partnership with the Diageo alcohol giant, Combs was the public face of the Vodka Ciroc brand. One of his companies, Blue Flame, provided marketing services for the brand.
Combs also directed Sean John, a fashion brand and Bad Boy Records, a recording brand.
Combs was intimately involved in businesses, launching revolt in 2013 with a program of The Stoop from the Biggie Smalls protected house. And he was perfectly aware of who he wanted to reach and use.
“All that Mr. Combs has done, diversity was a large part, especially for African-Americans,” said Kaplan.
