Rams defensive end Jared Verse instantly took on the role formerly owned by Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Santa Claus, with his comments about Eagles fans.
Coach Sean McVay sees no problem with that.
“He spoke his truth,” McVay told reporters Friday when asked about Verse’s comments. “I’m rolling with the Rams.”
Not all truths need to be told so bluntly. But, really, what else could McVay say publicly about it?
This verse was reported in the Los Angeles Times: “I hate Eagles fans. They are so boring. I hate Eagles fans. . . . When I see this green and white, I hate it. Actually, I’m upset. Like I was really hot.
Privately, McVay probably advised the rest of the Rams players not to share the same feelings. At least, not until the game ended and their plane left Philadelphia airspace.
