Sean Kingston and his mother arrested after search of singer’s Florida mansion

FORT LAUDERDALE – Authorities in Southern California arrested singer Sean Kingston, real name Kisean Anderson, on Thursday on numerous fraud and theft charges on an arrest warrant issued in Florida. His arrest followed a raid on his South Florida home earlier in the day, during which his mother was also arrested.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports that Kingston was taken into custody at Fort Irwin, California, and will be incarcerated in San Bernardino, located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

Earlier Thursday, Kingston’s mother was arrested on fraud charges at the artist’s home in Southwest Ranches, a Broward County community 22 miles northwest of Miami.

CBS News Miami’s Chopper 4 spotted several officers at the home as well as the Broward Sheriff’s Office Mobile Command Center, a vehicle used to coordinate police operations.

According to court documents from February 2024, the Jamaican-American musical artist lives at this property. A search of county records revealed that the house was owned by a limited liability company.

Kingston, 34, is known for his hit songs “Beautiful Girls,” “Fire Burning” and “Eenie Meenie.”

In 2021, music video producer GXDLIKE accused Kingston of punching him in the face and threatening him with a gun, TMZ reported. Kingston has denied the claims.

In 2020, a warrant was issued for his arrest for grand theft after he allegedly received jewelry but never paid for it. Over the years, Kingston has built relationships with jewelers. He was sued several times for allegedly receiving items without paying for them.

In 2016, Kingston got into a fight and was robbed of a $300,000 chain at Penthouse Nightclub & Dayclub in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

In 2011, Kingston crashed his personal watercraft on a bridge in Miami Beach. He was seriously injured, as was a female passenger. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. During his treatment, doctors discovered he had torn his aorta and required heart surgery.
