Federal prosecutors have changed the indictment against Sean Combs, which is expected to be tried next month, to include a second accusation of major sex trafficking, according to an indictment of the Grand Jury not sealed on Friday.
The new accusation concerns a woman described by prosecutors as “victim-2”. They allege that she is one of the three women victims that Mr. Combross forced sex.
Previously, Mr. Combs had only been accused of the “victim-2” sexual trafficking under a less serious accusation which makes it illegal to transport a person “with the intention that this person engages in prostitution”. The new accusation act adds a second chief of a more serious sex trafficking that brings a compulsory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
Mr. Combs, 55, pleaded not guilty to the accusations against him, who include a racketeering chief, and who vehemently denied sex trafficking. His lawyers argued that the conduct targeted by prosecutors involves consensual sex.
In a statement published on Friday in response to the new accusations, the Combs defense team said: “These are not new allegations or new accusers. It is the same people, former long -term girlfriends, were involved in consensual relations. It was their private sex life, defined by consent, not coercion.”
The selection of the jury in the trial, which will be held before the Federal District Court of Manhattan, is expected to start at the end of April. Opening declarations are expected to start on May 12.
