Seahawks’ Geno Smith captures $6 million in incentives in win over Rams

Geno Smith had those money moves in him on Sunday.

The Seahawks quarterback cashed in on the $6 million incentives in his contract during his team’s 30-25 win over the Rams in the final week of the regular season.

Smith completed 20 of 27 passes for 223 yards and orchestrated a game-winning scoring drive in the fourth quarter, which was capped off by a 16-yard touchdown pass to Noah Fant with a little more than three minutes left in the game.

The former Jets QB hit three separate incentives – each worth $2 million apiece – over the course of the game.

He collected $2 million in the fourth quarter when he reached 4,283 passing yards for the year on a completion to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

And by leading the Seahawks to their 10th win of the year, he was able to collect $2 million more in incentives.

The final $2 million came when the game was over and Smith had finished the 2024 season with a completion rate of 70.4 percent, which surpassed his 69.8 completion percentage in 2023.

The win also helped the Seahawks end the year on a positive note despite not making the playoffs.

Seattle won six of their last eight games after their bye week and won back-to-back games to end the year.

“I wanted to finish off the season strong. I thought we had a petty good season,” Smith said on Fox after the win. “I wish we would have won another game so we could be going to the playoffs, but I’m just proud of the guys how they fought today. You can say it’s a meaningless game, but when you have integrity this game means everything and every game counts.”

Smith’s three-year, $75 million contract ends after the 2025 NFL season.
