Scottie Scheffler’s caddy Ted Scott has now won more than a former Masters champion and Ryder Cup star this season after helping the American win AGAIN at Augusta National.

Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, enjoyed another major windfall on Sunday when the American donned his second green jacket after winning the Masters.

In doing so, Scheffler raked in a record $3.5 million (£2.8 million) and took his remarkable season to another level.

The world No. 1 finished at 11 under par for the tournament at Augusta National after a superb four-under round on Sunday.

Scott has carried Scheffler’s bag since 2022 and has been at the center of the American’s explosive rise to becoming golf’s dominant force.

According to Forbes, Scheffler has already collected just over $15 million (£12 million) in prize money from nine tournaments this season.

Scott was in Scheffler's bag as the American won the Masters for the second time in three years.

The 50-year-old is expected to have received a 10% share of the record £2.8 million prize money.

The 27-year-old also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship, two major tournaments that accompanied his Masters triumph.

Scott is also expected to have achieved incredible winnings thanks to the custom of players paying their caddies 10 percent of any prize money.

If Scheffler had followed custom, Scott would have earned $1.5 million (£1.2 million) this year.

Scott’s winnings would place the caddy among the top 50 golfers on the PGA Tour for prize money this season.

That means he’s won more than golf stars like Sungjae Im ($1,312,397), former Masters winner Adam Scott ($1,087,498), Joel Dahmen ($684,659) and European star the Viktor Hovland Ryder Cup ($653,025).

Rickie Fowler ($504,282), Zach Johnson ($171,178) and Matt Kuchar ($91,276) are also below Scott in earnings for the 2024 season.

In fact, Scheffler performs so well that Scott only wins $100,000 of Rory McIlroy’s total of $1,608,505 in prize money.

The caddy will also have earned considerable sums in previous seasons with Scheffler, who has topped the PGA Tour prize list for the past two years.

He earned a record $14m (£11.2m) during the 2021-22 season – a figure he has already surpassed this year – before earning $21m (£16.8m) million) on the 2022-23 tour.

With Scheffler banking $50m (£40m) over the past few seasons, Scott is believed to have won around $5m (£4m) in prize money alone.

Scott is a 25-year PGA Tour veteran, having previously caddyed for former Masters champion Bubba Watson.

He would have first needed to be convinced before agreeing to become a caddy for Scheffler.

Scott now has four victories as a cadet at the Masters, just one behind the tournament record.

“Teddy and Scottie talked for a while before they went to work for him,” said his classmate and friend Paul Tesori, via Golf Digest.

“Scottie is young and used to getting a little angry on the golf course, and maybe even a little angry with his caddy.

“Ted being an almost 50-year veteran, having been here so long, he was able to say, ‘I want to come work for you, but you have to promise me you’re going to work in these areas.'” And not only did Scottie say yes, he absolutely did it.

Scott now has four victories as a cadet at the Masters, following Watson’s triumphs in 2012 and 2014.

He is behind the record held by Willie Stokes and Willie Peterson, while he is tied with Nathaniel Avery and Steve Williams.
