Scottie Pippen’s son with ex-wife Larsa, Justin Pippen, has taken the next step toward an NBA career by committing to play college basketball for the University of Michigan.

Justin plays guard at Sierra Canyon School in California and is teammates with LeBron James’ younger son, Bryce.

Justin announced his commitment to the Wolverines on social media on Friday. He also spoke to On3’s Joe Tipton about his decision. According to Tipton, Michigan emerged thanks to offers from California, Stanford, Florida and Texas A&M.

“I chose Michigan because my long-term goal is to make the NBA,” Pippen said. “Michigan is great for my development and playing on such a big stage in this conference is great for me.”

Pippen joins the inaugural recruiting class with new Wolverines head coach Dusty May at the helm.

Michigan is trying to get back to winning ways next season after an 8-24 campaign in 2023-24 ended with the firing of coach Juwan Howard. The record displays the team’s worst winning percentage since their 6-18 season in 1961.
