Scotland’s Lewis Ferguson looks set to miss Euro 2024 after Bologna confirmed the attacking midfielder has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The Bologna captain was substituted during Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Monza and will now require knee surgery.

“I will do everything to come back better and stronger than before. Thanks everyone for the support. See you soon.’
Ferguson featured in both of Scotland’s friendlies last month and is expected to be named in the 23-man squad for the Euros.

Scotland will take part in the first match of the tournament against hosts Germany.
The news will come as a blow to manager Steve Clarke, whose side will also face Hungary and Switzerland in the group stage.
Ferguson has helped put Bologna on the brink of Champions League qualification with six goals and four assists in Serie A this season.
His team sits in fourth place, four points ahead of fifth-placed Roma, who have a game in hand.
