Clash at the Castle will be the culmination of a double bill for WWE in the city, with Friday Night SmackDown also airing from the venue the day before.

“We are thrilled to bring Friday Night SmackDown and Clash At The Castle: Scotland to our incredible fans in Scotland at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow this June,” said WWE Chairman Nick Khan.

“The world will see that this is one of the best venues in the UK and that Scottish crowds are some of the loudest, craziest and most passionate on the planet.”

Scotland is home to several WWE superstars, including Drew McIntyre, Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Piper Niven, Nikki Cross, Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang and Noam Dar.

Rangers super fan McIntyre hopes to fly his home country’s flag by winning gold for Clash – he’ll challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on night two of WrestleMania XL next Sunday.

The announcement of Clash At The Castle’s return to the UK follows Wales’ record-breaking edition of the same event which took place at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff in September 2022.

At the time, the event became the most-watched and highest-rated international Premium Live event in the company’s history.

McIntyre also main evented that night, failing in his quest to dethrone Roman Reigns and win the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship, even with Tyson Fury effectively in his corner.

Fury took out Austin Theory in memorable fashion to prevent the upstart from cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase at McIntyre’s expense.

The Glasgow show is also continuing its international expansion with Premium Live events of all kinds for the grappling superpower – they recently held Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia, and will host their Backlash event in Paris, France next month.

British fans plan to stay up late for WrestleMania – the company’s biggest event of the year – over the coming Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to McIntyre’s quest for glory, Roman Reigns defends his title against Cody Rhodes on Sunday, hot on the heels of Saturday’s fight featuring Reigns and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson taking on Rhodes and Rollins.

Brits The New Catch Republic – Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne – are also on the card as one of six teams fighting for the undisputed tag team championships.
