Scientists discover a surprising secret to a healthy intestine and heart

A study of the Purdue University revealed that the integration of lean red meat in a coherent and healthy diet can improve the diversity of intestinal microbiota and cardiovascular health. While the intermittent healthy diet offers temporary advantages, maintaining a balanced diet over time gives more sustainable and stable results.

Skinny red meat in a balanced diet benefits the intestine and heart health. Coherence is the key for sustainable results.

A recent study by scientists at Purdue University stresses that adhering to a coherent food model that includes lean red meat can help promote the balance of intestinal microbiota and support cardiovascular health.

Balanced diets with support for lean red meat in intestine and heart health

The researchers of the study examined the impact of adoption and then periodically stops a healthy American style food model, which included three ounces of lean red meat (beef and pork). This process, called “food cycling”, has been tested in young healthy adults.

The study aimed to determine how cycling on and out of this balanced diet on three controlled cycles influences health markers, with a particular emphasis on the diversity of intestinal microbiota and cardiovascular health indicators.

“Whenever participants adopted the healthy diet, their intestinal microbiota has increased to a beneficial composition, and cardiovascular markers, such as LDL cholesterol, have shown improvement and have been systematically linked to changes in intestinal bacteria” , explains Wayne Campbell, PhD, professor in the department of nutrition sciences at Purdue University and principal researcher on the study.

These results may also suggest that the intestinal microbiota can play an important role in the way food influences cardiovascular health and stresses that lean red meats, when consumed as part of a balanced healthy diet, may not Not have a negative impact on the intestine or heart health.

The consistency of diets gives the most sustainable health benefits

The study highlights two important take -out dishes: an intermittent healthy diet can offer advantages each time it resumes, but maintaining a balanced diet over time can produce more stable results.

Back to a usual or “usual” diet that was not limited to the healthy American style food model effectively overturned beneficial microbiota changes and cardiovascular improvements in a few weeks. In particular, while the healthy diet quickly improved serum lipid profiles – in just three weeks – it would always be necessary to maintain these advantages.

“It is better to consume a healthy diet regularly to support long -term health results,” suggests Dr Campbell. Dr. Campbell explains that this is true, especially if you already like lean red meat daily as part of a healthy and balanced diet.

The study is added to an increasing number of evidence supporting recommendations to consume a balanced healthy diet, which can include lean red meats, for long -term health benefits.
