Scientists announce crazy plan for first head transplant

US News

Scientists come together to achieve an insane medical breakthrough.

Neuroscience and biomedical engineering startup BrainBridge announced that it has created an AI-mechanized system to perform head transplants.

The procedure would involve transplanting a head onto the body of a brain-dead donor, thereby preserving the transplanted person’s memories, cognitive abilities and consciousness.

Researchers believe this innovative surgery would help patients with incurable illnesses like paralysis and certain cancers, as well as neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

Hashem Al-Ghaili, the scientist behind the project, said the research was evaluated by experts in several related fields.

“The goal of our technology is to push the boundaries of what is possible in medical science and provide innovative solutions to those battling life-threatening diseases,” Al-Ghaili told SWNS.

“Our technology promises to open the door to life-saving treatments that were unimaginable just a few years ago,” he added.

BrainBridge plans to use surgical robots and artificial intelligence to reconstruct facial features to fully utilize facial muscles.

“The process uses advanced, high-speed robotic systems to prevent brain cell degradation and ensure seamless compatibility,” BrainBridge said in a statement.

“The entire procedure is guided by real-time molecular imaging and AI algorithms to facilitate precise reconnection of the spinal cord, nerves and blood vessels. »

BrainBridge says the first procedure will be conducted within eight years.

The company said it was making the procedure public well in advance to better attract top scientists to the project.

BrainBridge says head transplants are just the beginning.

“In the short term, we expect the project to result in a breakthrough in spinal cord reconstruction and whole body transplantation, but in the long term, the project will expand into areas that will transform patient care. health as we know it. »
