Scarlett Johansson slams ChatGPT for using ‘eerily similar’ voice

THE Black Widow a star called out the CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman for allegedly using a voice in her artificial intelligence software that she claims sounds like hers without her consent, she said in a statement released by her representative to NBC News on May 20. According to Johansson, the businessman sent her an offer in September to hire her as the voice of the ChatGPT 4.0 system, but she turned him down.

“He said he thought my voice would comfort people,” she said. “After careful consideration and for personal reasons, I declined the offer.”

However, Johansson accused the company of using a voice that “sounded like me” without his consent on their new system called “Sky”, even claiming that his “friends, family and the general public have all noted” similarities .

“When I heard the demo released, I was shocked, angry and in disbelief that Mr. Altman could pursue a voice that sounded so eerily like mine,” the 39-year-old continued. “Mr. Altman even insinuated that the similarity was intentional, tweeting a single word ‘she,’ a reference to the film in which I voiced a cat system, Samantha, who forms an intimate relationship with a human.” (Altman tweeted the word on May 13.)
