Saturday Night Live paid tribute to the late Val Kilmer with a card at the end of the April 5 show. The doors Star died on April 1 at the age of 65 in pneumonia.
The prolific dramatic and comic actor had previously hosted the late evening show on December 9, 2000, alongside the musical guest U2, where he even parodied his Iceman character from the original Top Gun.
The kilmer formed by Juilliard, loved for his wide range as a versatile artist, as well as his true personality, died earlier this week after being diagnosed and recovered from throat cancer, which permanently modified his voice. He was known for his main turns in films like The doors, the saint, kiss kiss bang bang, batman forever, tombstone, thunderheart, willlow and his latest credit, Top Gun: Maverick.
Tributes flocked throughout the industry in the following days, including fellow Saturday Night Live Alum and close friend Will Forte, who wrote a souvenir attempt in Vulture. The actor shared memories on and off screen, adding that it does not compete with Kilmer on CBS ‘ The incredible race was the “greatest regret of my entire career”.
During a surprise appearance at cinemacon this weekend, co-star Tom Cruise Took At Momille to Pay Hamage to Kilmer: “I’d like to Honor A Dear Friend of Mine, Val Kilmer. I Really Can’t Tell You How Much I Admire His Work, How Much I Thought of Him As A Human Being, How Honored I Was when Top gun and returned for Top Gun: Maverick. “”
