Mystical pearl
Mystic Pearl fought so well to win at Sandown in July to secure the Coral Distaff in listed company for trainer William Haggas.
They were all wild quite a ways from the finish and all the fillies were digging deep, but it was Mystic Pearl who came in on the outside who dug deepest.
She then placed in the Group 3 Fillies’ Prix de Lieurey at Deauville a month later before going on winter break before being sent to Meydan for a few races.
She competed in two Group 2 fillies’ competitions in Dubai and was not disgraced on her last outing behind English Rose, although she was 28/1.
She returns to listed company for what is only her second all-time outing, but she really seems to suit the Kempton track, especially if she can hit her stride at the cut just after the final turn.
Notable speeches and Valvano
Notable Speech made it 2-2 at Kempton for trainer Charlie Appleby under William Buick in February.

It was also an impressive display to wait until he was only a few furlongs away, holding off his rivals, and then when Buick leaned over to take the gap and said go for it, he passed them with ease.
He also finished strong, suggesting he should take this comfortably, albeit against other unexposed and promising three-year-olds.
Notable Speech also has an early entry into the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket for May, with a pre-off price of 66/1, but could enter if he impresses with this step up.
But Valvano is 50/1 with an early entry into the Derby, and was a strong winner on Ralph Beckett’s debut and could be of interest in his second run of his career, after a 171-day break.
He hasn’t beaten any horse that particularly suggested he could win such a race, but the manner in which he sailed indicates he is a strong prospect.
Especially since he benefits from the support of the trainer, with entries for the Dubai Dante Stakes, the Derby and the Irish Derby.
Gardener & Jupiter Du Gite
He only faces five rivals here and although he has been knocked down and stopped in two of his five races this season for trainer Olly Murphy, he has shown plenty of ability.
Beating Secret Plan on his chase debut and followed that up in his third run over fences at Carlisle by beating Caraci Castle.
He was going well in his second run and probably would have won that too if he hadn’t made a mistake in knocking down the driver.
Arrived on a testing ground last time and can continue progress this time up to 2m4f, which should be fine.
Jupiter Du Gite won over this distance from his second attempt over obstacles, winning very nicely in front of Hymac and Nine Nine Nine.
He should get closer in conditions that suit him after having already won in heavy.
Cryptographic strength
A top horse returns to the track after 560 days.
Amo Racing-owned Crypto Force showed great promise as a two-year-old, beating two favorites.
These weren’t just any horses, they were Auguste Rodin and Adelaide River.
This is his first race since beating the latter in September 2022 and moving from MD O’Callaghan to John & Thady Gosden to his current trainer Adrian Murray. All this without running during this period.
But he is back and could be so well placed to win that title in his first start as manager under David Egan.
Going up to 1m2f should bring out even more progression and they wouldn’t have sent him for that if he wasn’t ready.
Sometimes horses can escape if they’re not quite ready for a fact-finding mission, but it’s a Group 3 they’ll be aiming to win.
Capulet
Ryan Moore is basically coming to Chelmsford on Saturday for one ride despite the three he has booked for.
And it’s about Justify’s colt, Capulet. Who has just been beaten in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket in September, beaten by the very promising Ghostwriter.
Capulet was also just behind Diego Velazquez in his second start and has already reached a score of 109 after just three races.
There is clearly plenty of power with this horse and that is backed up by trainer Aidan O’Brien’s plot to send him to Chelmsford for this Grade 2.
There are Tigre de Cuba and Orne as main rivals, but he should easily eliminate two of them.
It’s interesting to send him here, but it’s a big prize pool and they must think he can easily win it if they come from Ireland to play him.
The colt has many entries in Groups 1 and 2 and looks promising this season.
