“Can Meghan and Harry be stripped of their titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and how likely is that to be the case? Are King Charles and Prince William fed up with their shenanigans?

SARAH: ‘I think it’s unlikely the king will do it…maybe Prince William. I think a lot depends on the next few years. Personally, I don’t think they should keep their titles, but there is a slight problem in that if she is stripped of the Sussex moniker, then I think she can be called “Princess”, ridiculously. But my colleague Robert Hardman is the real expert on the subject.

File photo dated 11/03/19 of the then Prince of Wales (now King Charles III) chatting with the Duchess of Sussex and the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge (left) (now (now the Prince of Wales) as they attend the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey, London. The Duke of Sussex claimed in his memoir that his father was jealous of his wife, Meghan, and his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales. Harry would have explained the reason why his father said he hadn't done it.

“With recent events in mind, for example the alleged honey trap plot carried out against MPs, as well as the recent antics of Mark Menzies, my question is: why is there no ‘integrity within the Conservative Party?’ Are we doing enough to fight conservative corruption?

SARAH: “Most politicians, of all colors, start out with the best intentions. But it’s a dirty business, and it corrupts.

“What has been the highlight of your career so far? »

SARAH: ‘He was asked to write the front page on the death of the Queen. A huge honor.

“I read that you are the godmother of one of Lord Cameron’s daughters. Are you still close friends? What do you think of his appointment as Foreign Minister and do you think he is doing a good job?

SARAH: ‘I am indeed – Florence. Unfortunately, we are no longer close friends. But I think he’s great as a foreign secretary, actually. I think he would make a good party leader one day…’

“What do you think of the new Baby Reindeer Netflix series? Do you think Richard Gadd was right to say that and do you feel sorry for the harasser?

SARAH: ‘I’m afraid I only watched the first few episodes, but I enjoyed them immensely and found the way she was portrayed to be very nuanced, considering everything. Actually, I feel sorry for her. This is clearly not a healthy woman.

“How do you think Wales is coping after Kate’s cancer diagnosis? When Kate returns to the public fold, will anything be different?

SARAH: ‘I think it’s like any family going through a serious illness: scary, stressful, lots of uncertainty. A friend of mine is currently going through a similar situation with her daughter, and it’s very difficult, especially when the children are so young. When she comes back into the public eye, I think people will be very respectful of her situation and give her a lot of time and space. She was already one of the most popular royals – I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

“On a recent episode of your weekly show, you said you were a fan of Taylor Swift. Do you think she’s a good role model for young girls? And what’s your favorite song?

SARAH: ‘I think she is a great example of a hard-working, independent woman who knows her mind and talent. When it comes to songs, the top of my Spotify playlist is Lover. Also paper rings and I think he knows. I haven’t had the chance to listen to the new album yet but I’m looking forward to it.

“What was it like being married to the charismatic Michael Gove? »

SARAH: ‘I learned a lot.’

“Do you think that a change in the constitution – i.e. abolishing the House of Lords or removing the constitutional right of the royal family so that they have a ceremonial role – would be more in line with a modern democratic country ?”

SARAH: ‘No. The House of Lords is overcrowded and far too full of cronies, but it nonetheless serves an important function in principle. I wouldn’t abolish it, I would just impose a time limit on peerages – say ten years – in order to control it. As for the constitutional monarchy, I think recent years have only reinforced the important position the royal family occupies in the British psyche, especially in times of political turmoil.

“Do you think Harry and Meghan can possibly be welcomed back as part-time working royals after everything they’ve said about the royal family in interviews, podcasts, Harry’s book Spare, and without distancing themselves from the nasty comments made by their spokesperson Omid Scobie, particularly about King Charles and the Princess of Wales?

SARAH: ‘Hi Joychrista. I think it would one day be possible, given that blood is thicker than water, but they would have to work hard to regain the trust of not only the royals, but also the British public. That said, it won’t happen anytime soon. I think it will be the next generation – their children, the Prince of Wales’s children – who will eventually bridge that gap, if they ever do.
