Sarah Jessica Parker has been wearing these awesome and comfortable shoes for decades

This weekend was, to put it briefly, perfect. The activities I did, including going to the ballet and attending a jazz concert, were just what I needed to unwind after a busy week! I slept well and of course the weather was perfect, which allowed me to have a little more fun planning my outfits. The layers came off, meaning my weekend uniform included flowy silk skirts and tanks; even though I was sweating, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw a Sarah Jessica Parker look recently that was the complete the opposite of what I was wearing.

Sarah Jessica Parker.

I should make one thing clear: last week was pretty chilly in NYC, with temperatures really starting to rise over the weekend, so SJP’s layered look makes sense. The actress went with her trusty sweatpants, bottoms that she wears fiercely outside the house, not caring at all about the haters who think their “pants only for home” — and I’m Agree with Parker. Sweatshirts can be worn outdoors, casually or dressed up.

Parker took the latter route, going more casual and comfortable with her running look — and I say running because she carried multiple bags on her shoulders, a moment many New Yorkers can relate to. We hang out a lot, and that requires many bags (just more proof that SJP is, in fact, a relatable queen). She completed the outfit with a gray top that she tucked in, a black bomber jacket, her signature shield-shaped sunglasses, and those funky slides she’s had for decades. Seriously.

Parker is a big fan of clogs: look at her outfits in the 90s and you’ll see her wearing chunky wooden-soled clogs. Look at her outfits today, and she’s always wearing a very similar style of shoe. SJP is a creature of habit, but beyond that, the fact that she wore the quintessential “ugly” shoes is proof that clogs are worth wearing, even beyond the garden.

It’s for good reason. The clogs are incredibly comfortable, not to mention super easy to wear; Just slide them in and you’re ready to go. An easy shoe like this is all most of us have time for when we go out – so it’s a good thing that these shoes are now considered trendy too, thanks to SJP and many others celebrities like Gisele Bündchen and Reese Witherspoon.

Sorry, not sorry to the haters, but clogs are here to stay. So, hope to get on board with one of the styles below that are so cool, like these M.Gemis that keep selling out.
