Sarah Becker Dies: MTV’s ‘The Real World: Miami’ Alumna Was 52

Sarah Becker, best known for her appearance on MTV shows The real world Season 5 is dead. She was 52 years old.

Becked appeared in the fifth season of the reality series set in Miami. According to TMZ, Becker committed suicide earlier this week at her home in Illinois, her family confirmed.

Becker’s friends took to social media to remember her after learning of her death.

“Sarah Becker was made of pure sunshine… Full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel the warmth in her presence. I am grateful for our adventures and laughter. Big kisses to the whole Wildstorm family! Daniel Norton posted on Facebook.

In response to the post, Norton also said, “I think Sarah has always been one of those people that after you meet them you have a good memory or a funny story with them. Something you can always look back on and share with who you are. It was his power.

TMZ notes that Becker had moved to Illinois “to take care of his family last year” and had “experienced mental health issues in recent months.” Becker was recently reportedly involved in a skateboarding accident.

Following the news of Becker’s death, another friend of the former reality TV star took to Facebook to share photos with her.

“I just found out that one of the kindest people to ever be put in my life, especially at my impressionable age, has passed away. Whenever I thought of her, I always saw her smile and her bubbly personality. You were loved and will be missed,” Joel Benjamin wrote on Facebook.

A friend of Becker’s shared her last post on Facebook, dated June 14. In this post, Becker asked his friends for dentist recommendations.

On The real world: Miami, Becker described herself as a “19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old’s body.” During the season, Becker brought home a puppy she named Leroy. Becker’s co-stars included Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Joe Patane, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alekseyeun and Mike Lambert.
