LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Three people were arrested after trying to escape on foot following a high-speed chase out of the city of Santa Ana.
Corporal Sonia Rojo of the Santa Ana Police Department said the chase began when patrolling officers attempted to arrest them for a vehicle code violation.

Officers chasing the SUV saw occupants of the vehicle throwing objects during the chase, possibly including a gun in the town of Garden Grove and bolt cutters thrown down Highway 605, Rojo said.

The vehicle was seen traveling at high speed on surface roads, driving on the wrong side of the road, entering and exiting traffic, and on a footpath and on the grass of a park in the village of Atwater. Two people were seen jumping from the SUV outside the park, before the driver abandoned the vehicle and rushed into a building in the park.
