The abuse is suspected to have occurred since the infant was 2 weeks old.

The extent of the injuries was discovered by doctors on May 13 when the infant was taken to the hospital with his left arm no longer moving, authorities said.

Busto-Rodriguez is suspected of lying to police about how his son was injured.

Both parents have pleaded not guilty and are each being held on $1 million bail.

Jimenez-Olivera faces up to 42 years in prison if convicted on all 11 counts, while Busto-Rodriguez faces a maximum of three years in prison.
