Sandlot’s Marty York Details Aftermath of His Mom’s 2023 Murder

Marty York is still healing.

THE Sand court The actor, who played Alan “Yeah-Yeah” McClennan in the 1993 film, shared his insight into the aftermath of his mother’s murder in October 2023.

“I’m hanging on as much as I can,” he said Access Hollywood in an interview broadcast on April 5. “Everything has been difficult: trying to get back into this business, trying to deal with my mother’s death and how that happened.”

And while his mother, Deanna Esmaeelinspired him throughout his career, York explained that he plans to continue his acting career in his honor.

“Without my mother, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in,” he continued. “My mother believed in me during the most difficult moments of this business, she always told me: ‘You got this.’”

York’s mother, who worked as a deputy at the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office in Crescent, California, was found dead in her home on October 12.
