San Jose sharks remember little to recall Danil Gushchin, Thomas Bordeleau

San Jose – winger Danil Gushchin has another out -of -competition season for the San Jose Barracuda while he was carrying a sequence of nine games in the team’s match against the Abbotsford Canucks on Saturday.

But unless the San Jose Sharks undergo a wave of injury to their group before the next two and more, Gushchin, or any other Barracuda striker, will probably not return to the NHL this season.

The Sharks used the four non -emergency reminders after the Diadline and had 15 attackers on their list entering their match with the New York Rangers on Saturday. Thus, unless four or more attackers are injured, Gushchin and others, like Thomas Bordeleau and Ethan Cardwell, will remain in the AHL the rest of this season.

Gushchin, a third round choice by the Sharks in 2020, had a decisive pass in the 5-1 defeat of Barracuda against the Canucks on Friday in Tech Cu Arena. During the last nine games, he scored seven goals and nine assists, while he entered Saturday as the third marker of Barracuda with 44 points in 47 games.

Gushchin was appointed player of AHL week for the period ending on March 23 after having four goals and seven points in three games.

Sharks have another 10 games after Saturday, starting with Sunday’s match in Los Angeles against the Kings. Already eliminated from the claims of the playoffs, the Sharks season will end on April 16 when they welcome the EDMONTON Oilers.

After being scratched the last three games, the Kim Kostin winger will get back into the Sharks programming on Saturday with Carl Grundstrom who will be released. The other healthy stripes of the Sharks on Saturday will be the Noah Gregor and Nikolai Kovalenko attackers.

After an exceptional training camp with nine points in four pre-season, the often dynamic gushchin started the list of Sharks. However, Gushchin had only one point in 10 NHL games before his return to AHL on November 5.

Bordeleau was injured during the camp and did not play a NHL match this season. Track in the second round of the Sharks in 2020, Bordeleau entered Saturday with 38 points in 53 games this season. He scored three goals and eight assists in his last 12 games.

Gushchin and Bordeleau, both 23 years old, are restricted free agents waiting. Bordeleau has 18 points in 43 career games in the NHL, and Gushchin has five points in 16 games with the Sharks.

The Barracuda continued in Jockey to position in the AHL Pacific Division, while they entered fifth place on Saturday with nine games to play. The seven best teams in the division make the playoffs.

Where the Barracuda hurt their defense corps, which was still exhausted on Saturday when the Sharks recalled Jimmy Schuldt. Barracuda defender Jack Thompson underwent a foot injury during Wednesday’s match in San Diego and did not play on Friday against Abbotsford.

Schuldt, who will play against the Rangers, was recalled after Vincent Desharnais was excluded with an upper body injury. Desharnais will miss the match on Sunday in Los Angeles and Tuesday’s match in Anaheim.

It was not clear if Schuldt would travel with sharks towards southern California. The Sharks, according to coach Ryan Warsofsky, expect defender Marc-Edouard Vlasic to be available for Sunday’s match. Vlasic (upper body) has not played since March 15, when the Sharks welcomed Washington’s capital.

San Jose entered 32nd place in the NHL general classification on Saturday, but would go up a place with a victory over the Rangers. The Sharks were two points from Chicago, but played fewer games, which means they would have a better percentage of points than the Blackhawks if they beat the Rangers.
