San Jose man arrested in connection with mother’s death

SAN JOSE — A 34-year-old San Jose man has been arrested in connection with the death of his mother, authorities say.

Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Shadow Dance Drive around 11:45 a.m. Thursday for reports of suspicious circumstances, San Jose Police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release. They arrived to find a woman unconscious and not breathing.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner and Coroner’s Office will release her identity once it is confirmed and next of kin have been notified.

This is the city’s 14th homicide of the year. San Jose police investigated 11 homicides this time last year.

The woman’s adult son, identified as Roger Le, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose. Hernandez said Le would be charged with murder.

The motive and circumstances of the homicide are under investigation, Hernandez said.
