San Diego police release sketch of man suspected of impersonating officer
San Diego police on Thursday released a profile of a man suspected of falsely pretending to be an officer and trying to lure children into his vehicle last month.
The incident happened on March 11 around 10 a.m. at Keiller Park on Woodrow Avenue in the Skyline community.
The man approached two children, ages 9 and 12, told them he was a police officer and tried to lure the children toward his vehicle to take photos of them, the detective said. San Diego police, David Kean, in a press release.
The children did not follow the man and told an adult who called police, Kean said. The man, last seen heading east on Lisbon Street, was described as Latino, aged in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin to average and black hair. He wore a blue T-shirt with white horizontal stripes, black pants and white shoes.
