San Antonio man killed while chasing dogs on interstate

A 30-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while chasing his dogs after they ran away on a San Antonio highway over the weekend.

The man was having car trouble and stopped on the right shoulder of the highway near Dietrich Road on the city’s East Side when his dogs ran from his vehicle, the police said. San Antonio police.

In an attempt to argue with the beloved dogs, the man began chasing them down a busy thoroughfare around 10pm on Sunday evening.

Just as he finally managed to catch one of his dogs, a commercial vehicle traveling on the highway hit them.

The driver of the SUV rushed to the horrific scene to try to help, but the 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Footage shot by KSAT paints a picture of the tragedy: a camper van was sleeping on the side of the road, its hood open and a twisted license plate hanging from the front.

Meanwhile, a single sneaker was lying in the middle of the road.

According to People, San Antonio Animal Services was on scene and can be seen taking one of the dogs from the area.
