San Antonio – The previous tornado watch is over, but part of our region remains in a serious watch in the thunderstorm a little longer.
A massive storm complex continues to push towards the Gulf coast with some strong persistent serious storms in our region. It should be noted that there are signs of strong winds of a “low wake” developing behind this line of storms. A tight pressure gradient is created behind these complexes which can often bring wind gusts of 40 mph or more.
Otherwise, the risk of severe storms is over for the county of Bexar after certain total precipitation, gusts and generalized rail.
We will be on the lookout Tuesday evening until Tuesday evening for another chance of strong storms to develop in the west third of our region, then we will travel to the east through the region. Significant hail and strong winds will be the main dangers with these storms.
