It looks like Samsung is finally ready to roll out a paid subscription for its AI-powered smartphones, but it might not look like what we expected.
“We will apply the subscription service to Galaxy smartphones starting next month,” he says. “Ballie will first be introduced in Korea and the United States, and we plan to provide it as a subscription in Korea.”
The AI Subscription Club is not a requirement to access Galaxy AI features on Samsung phones and other devices, which the company says will remain free for users at least until the end of 2025, plans au- beyond this date not being confirmed.
The model currently offers Korean consumers the opportunity to sign up for a monthly subscription for their AI-powered TVs, refrigerators, washing machines and more, including optional repair and maintenance services, with the aim of reduce the initial cost.
It’s unclear whether the subscription model will expand beyond South Korea, but there’s a chance we’ll know more soon. Samsung is holding a Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, scheduled for January 22, when it is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 series.
