Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro delayed due to quality issues

Have you watched Samsung Galaxy Unpacked or read some of the many early impression articles and ordered a pair of these shiny new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro earbuds? I have bad news for you. According to Android Authority, Samsung has suspended shipments of the earbuds to retailers due to quality control issues with the eartips. Some people who got their hands on the earbuds early have complained that the eartips tear easily when removed from the earbuds.

If you’ve ever had to change ear tips, you’ll find that removing them can be tricky, depending on how they fit into the earphones. So the risk of damaging the tips while trying to get a comfortable fit is not good news.

At first, Samsung provided instructions on how to avoid potential tears. Eventually, the company chose to push back the earbuds’ launch to August 28 on its site, more than a month after the original July 24 date, and Best Buy followed suit. Meanwhile, Amazon has pulled its listing of the earbuds entirely. In some damage control, Samsung has issued multiple statements apologizing for the issues and emailing customers about the upcoming delay. We reached out to Samsung but have not received a response.

It’s a shame, because the Buds 3 Pro have been praised by several reviewers, including Gizmodo, where the futuristic-looking earbuds earned an impressive 4.5-star rating. But overall, it’s better for the company to address the issue now rather than risk a bigger PR nightmare if the faulty earbuds end up in the hands of eager consumers.
